Book Spotlight & Giveaway

Welcome! Today I have with me author Lynne Marshall, who's giving away a FREE copy of her book, An Indiscretion.

BLURB:
A doctor... A nurse... An indiscretion...
Paul Valverde is stretched to the limit, caring for an elderly relative while running a business and maintaining a full-time medical practice at St. Stephen's Hospital--with no time for a relationship.
RN Carrington Hanover leaves her money-hungry fiance at the altar and moves on to a new job at St. Stephen's Hospital in Los Angeles. The next man in her life must love her, not her money.
All work and no play has made Paul an unfulfilled man, and the resurrected redheaded crush from his youth is driving him to distraction. Can their complicated past become untangled by their newfound attraction--or will their love be doomed by mistrust and long-held resentment?

EXCERPT:
Carrington sat mesmerized by the colorful spectacle before her. So drawn into the blistering dancing, she jumped when Paul touched her wrist and took her hand in his.

Not quite sure what to do about the condition of her hand enfolded in his, she decided to relax and enjoy the heady feel of his palm against hers.

The powerful music and dancing stirred her, but not nearly as much as the feel of Paul’s skin flush with hers. His long fingers laced through hers and drew her hand toward his mouth. He stared into her eyes and kissed the pad below her thumb, then smiled in a way she’d never seen him smile before as he placed his lips to the palm of her hand. Heat and desire radiated from his eyes, and it transferred through his mouth and up her arm.

Carrington’s throat tightened. But her body reacted in a completely different way. The constant pounding of the dancer’s feet and the fiery music made her skin heat up. If she were being honest, she would admit that the source of the stoking fire was the point of contact with Paul’s lips.

What had she gotten herself into? A long day at work. Two difficult procedures. Dinner with her boss. The most incredible paella and sangria she’d ever tasted. Maybe a bit too much sangria. Exciting flamenco music and dancing. And Paul.

She closed her eyes and inhaled, only to realize he was lifting her hair from her neck. The kiss at the curve of her shoulder sent chills scattering up her scalp and across her chest. Her breasts tightened and pebbled, and she enjoyed a desire she hadn’t felt
in a long, long time. Liquid heat pooled between her thighs. How in the world could one gentle kiss, placed in the perfect spot on her shoulder, make her so turned on?

It wasn’t the kiss. It was Paul. Still the most incredible male she’d ever met.

Thank you for inviting me, Kelly! I am so excited to spotlight AN INDISCRETION as it is a story with a little bit of everything in it. There is romance, of course, as well as elements of medicine (since they both work together in a ficititious hospital in L.A.)and there is dancing (Paul is a Spaniard in America - of course he dances!). I've included some of my favorite parts of Los Angeles in the story, plus there is a little mystery.

I hope however wins enjoy's Paul and Carrington's chance to find their happily ever after!

Good luck and tell your friends!

What a gorgeous site (and fabulous music.) Lynne, I loved this story and the way you incorporated your love for the medical field with your love for dance. I've always enjoyed your HM&B books but this one is really special. Congrats!

Great scene, Lynne! It gave me chills too!

Hi Roz - there is nothing like like music and emotionally charged dancing to get a person's blood flowing, right?

My favorite scene in this book is a rhumba scene where the dancing overwhelms Carry...

Wonderful little snippet for your story!! Love the music in the background too. Welcome home and congrats!!

Hi Charlene!
Thanks for stopping by. I wouldn't know how to begin plugging in music to my website/blog.

Hey, Kelly, thanks for spotlighting Lynne's book -- she's one of my favorites (author and people). Great excerpt, Lynne. I can hear the music pounding ... Ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk. Oh, wait, that's the unbalanced cement mixer next door. Well, I could hear the music, if that obnoxious thing wasn't so pervasive. Can't wait to read the rest of "An Indiscretion"!

Just downloaded onto my iPad. If this book is anywhere near as good as Lynne's One For The Road then it's a must read. Love Lynne's contemporary style and I love the promise of spice in this excerpt.

Lynne Marshall said...

Hi Amy! I say you're the queen of spice! Wow - thanks so much for the endorsement. An Indiscretion is written in the category romance style with a bit more - secondary characters, settings, sensuality (moreso from my usual MedRos) and dancing! I loved writing it. Loved my hot Spanish American hero - Paul - well, I could get carried away about this, but I really enjoyed spreading my wings a bit on this one. :)

Thanks so much for commenting.
