Book Review, MAKE MINE A BAD BOY

Make Mine a Bad Boy,
By: Katie Lane

Author Katie Lane's interest in romance began in the backseat of a '65 Mustang. She's now married to the owner of said Mustang and has two grown daughters. She resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She enjoys golf, motorcycles, and traveling in her spare time. Her other title, Going Cowboy Crazy, preceded this book.

The bright lights of California did not shine so brightly on Hope Scroggs, so after sowing her wild oats, she returns to Bramble, Texas, to settle down. Finally ready to get hitched, she seeks out her high school flame, only to find out he married the twin sister she never knew she had. So what is a girl to do? Certainly not hook up with bad boy, Colt Lomax... again! But the attraction that once drew the former cheerleader and the freedom-loving biker together is brewing again, or rather, it never cooled.

Though I enjoyed the first book with the sister, Faith, it was more the town that drew me into that book. In this case, I found myself rooting for the characters and loving the hero. I also found the plot much more plausible and interesting this time around. Though a part of a series, this is a stand alone read. This is an author who knows the south, Texas especially, and puts you right there in the thick of the setting. The town, and slew of secondary characters, returns in this second book for a hilarious and sometimes heartwarming story of love, regret, and coming home again. Recommended.
