Review--FANNY AND ANNABELLE

Review For:
Fanny & Annabelle, by Holly Hobbie
ISBN: 9780316166881
Publisher: Little, Brown (Hachette Book Group)

Author Holly Hobbie has worked as an artist more than thirty years, having written and illustrated eleven of the highly acclaimed Toot & Puddle picture books, The Art of Holly Hobbie, and Fanny.
Fanny & Annabelle is a children’s picture book targeted for the two to eight-year-old bracket. Following Fanny and her handmade doll, Annabelle, Fanny decides to write a picture book about her doll called “Annabelle’s Adventure,” having the adventure herself while writing the book.
This story is wonderful on many levels. Not only does it teach creativity with Fanny writing her book and previously making her doll, but it teaches the importance of right and wrong as well as problem solving skills. I would recommend this for the older children in this targeted market for five to eight years. The illustrations were just beautiful and engaging. A delightful and insightful book.
